Precious Metals Group Fresnillo's Q1 Silver Production Rises, Gold Output Drops

Fresnillo (FRES.L) said Wednesday its attributable silver production grew and gold output declined year over year in the three months ended March 31. The London-listed precious metals group's total silver production, including Silverstream, totaled 13.5 million ounces, compared with 13.2 million ounces a year ago. Gold output fell to 140,847 ounces from 173,034 ounces. Meanwhile, the attributable by-product lead and zinc production increased to 14,924 tonnes and 26,157 tonnes, respectively, from 13,368 tonnes and 24,118 tonnes. The company maintained its 2024 guidance for attributable silver production, including Silverstream, of 55 million ounces to 62 million ounces, with an attributable gold output of 580,000 ounces to 630,000 ounces.
